Job Description

ARMED SECURITY CAPTAIN - Field Operations & Training Supervisor

Lead the Team. Shape the Culture. Help Build the Future of GCI Security.
GCI Security, Inc. – Greater St. Louis Area

POSITION SUMMARY

This isn't just a leadership role — it's a cornerstone position in the future of GCI Security. As a Security Captain , you'll oversee our field operations, overseeing a team of 8-10 Team Leads, set the standard for professionalism in the field, and work directly with executive leadership to help scale a high-performance, purpose-driven security company.

We're looking for someone who leads from the front — calm under pressure, great with people, and obsessed with raising the bar. If you're a strong communicator with management experience and a desire to build something bigger than yourself, this role is your next step.

You'll be a key player in helping design and implement officer training, improve recruiting, boost morale, and ensure our clients continue receiving the elite service they expect from GCI.

This is your opportunity to help build the most trusted, respected, and scalable private security company in the region, and long-term, has the potential to develop into an operations management role as the company scales.

Starting Pay: $25.00-27.00 per hour (based on experience and alignment with our mission).
Hours & Schedule: Flexible, full-time schedule with approximately 20 hours spent on post and 20 hours completing site check-ins and management/administrative tasks. Some evening/overnight hours required in order to touch base with evening and overnight shift officers.

ABOUT US

At GCI Security, we believe great security is about more than having someone on-site — it's about trust, presence, and purpose. We were the first company to provide private security services to local taxing districts in St. Louis, and we continue to lead the way through professional, worry-free service that protects what matters most.

Our mission is clear: Built to empower. Driven to protect. Trusted to deliver worry-free guarding at the highest standard.

We serve private neighborhoods, corporate offices, retail properties, industrial sites, and more — delivering proactive protection through visible presence, responsive communication, and unmatched service.

At GCI, we don't just fill shifts — we build careers. Our company is grounded in five core values that shape every hire, every promotion, and every client relationship:  Professionalism. Accountability. Growth. Communication. Integrity.

If you're someone who sees leadership as a responsibility — not a title — and wants to help build the most scalable security team in the region, you'll fit right in.

To confirm you've read this posting carefully, you'll be asked to enter the key word “purpose” when applying.
