Job Title: Bridge and Tunnel Inspector

We are seeking a Bridge and Tunnel Inspector to play a key role in evaluating, assessing, and ensuring the safety and integrity of critical transportation infrastructure in the Boston area. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a passion for structural safety, problem-solving, and working in dynamic field environments.
Conduct inspections of bridges, tunnels, and related structures to assess their condition, identify defects, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Perform hands-on and visual inspections using specialized tools and techniques, including rope access and under-bridge inspection units.
Document inspection findings, prepare detailed reports, and provide recommendations for necessary repairs or maintenance.
Assist in planning and coordinating inspection schedules to meet regulatory requirements and project deadlines.
Work closely with engineers, contractors, and public agencies to ensure safety standards are met and maintained.
Utilize industry-standard software and data collection tools to analyze structural conditions and prepare inspection documentation.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local transportation and safety regulations, including FHWA and MassDOT guidelines.
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in bridge and tunnel inspection, maintenance, or construction.
Certified Bridge Safety Inspector (CBSI) or ability to obtain certification within a reasonable timeframe.
Knowledge of inspection standards, structural analysis, and transportation infrastructure maintenance.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in varying environmental conditions and at heights.
Proficiency in industry-standard inspection software and reporting tools.
Competitive Compensation: Salary range: $90,000 to $130,000 based on experience.
