Job Description

Ukrop's Homestyle Foods is seeking a Full-time Cake Decorator for our Central Bakery located at 2020 Westmoreland Street in Richmond, VA.  The ideal candidate will possess a passion for superior Customer Service, a positive attitude and will work with a sense of urgency to satisfy our customer's cake needs.   Position Summary : The Cake Decorator will be able to decorate cakes with buttercream, chocolate fudge, and whipped.  He or she will also perform a variety of duties associated with food production and shipping at our Central Bakery, such as decorating, scaling, assembling product, packaging, cutting, prepping and deliveries.  Decorating shifts operate between 7:00 a.m. to Finish, which could be 3:30 p.m. or later, Monday through Saturday and Sundays as needed. Primary Responsibilities : Icing and decorating of special-order sheet, round, and layer cakes, as well as cupcakes Assembling, prepping, sorting, adding or slicing of finished product in preparation for packaging Assisting to maintain a clean and safe workspace Inspection and labeling of product Operation of packaging, slicing, transitioning and/or cleaning equipment Assisting in ensuring that the SQF system is in place and that we are in compliance with all aspects of HACCP plan, SSOPs, and GMPs throughout the plant Reporting all food safety issues to an immediate supervisor Education and Experience : High School diploma or equivalent required One year experience or more working with decorating cakes in a bakery or cake decorating environment Proficient in decorating techniques, mixing icings and coordinating colors to create a variety of decorated goods We are looking for candidates that are dependable, possess a strong attention to detail and the ability to work safely in a fast paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.  As part of the selection process, candidates may be sent an online assessment, which focuses on the values of our organization - Honest, Helpful and Hard Working.
