Golisano Children's Hospital is seeking an experienced PICU RN for their Part Time Clinical Nurse Specialist position. This is a job share role working approximately 20 hours per week. Hours will will vary based on job share role. We are seeking a Masters prepared expert in the specialty of Pediatric ICU and PPCU.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is an Advanced Practice Nurse, whose sphere of clinical practice influences patient care outcomes, nursing practices across acuteand critical care services, and the development of organizational systems that support nursing practice and patient care standards. Demonstrates knowledge of nursing science required to influence nursing practice. Possesses clinical expertise based on completion of advanced nursing education that encompasses in-depth knowledge of theory-based clinical nursing and research/evidence-based nursing practice. Focuses on providing system-wide clinical expertise, developing innovative evidence-based procedures, policies and programs that improve quality of nursing care delivery and resource management for acute or critical care services. Provides collaborative/consultative services to promote outcome focused professional nursing practice that meets nationally accepted clinical practice guidelines and standards for quality, safety, service, and financial goals
Education: Masters degree in Nursing Required.
Experience: 5 years' experience in clinical practice required. 3 years' experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist preferred.
License: Registered Nurse license required.
Certification: BLS (American Heart Association / Basic Life Support required. Certification in specialty required within one year of hire.As appropriate to clinical specialty area: ACLS, TNCC, ENPC or PALS required within one year of hire.
