Construction Pursuit Manager

Independence Excavating is seeking a talented Construction Pursuit Manager to join our strategically growing team! The Construction Pursuit Manager will be responsible for managing the process of identifying and qualifying bid opportunities, develop winning bids and proposals, implement winning strategies, coordinating with various teams, and ensuring submission for new project contracts. The Construction Pursuit Manager will be acting as the driving force behind securing new contract opportunities.

A typical day looks like:

  • Oversee the preparation of detailed proposals which include technical specifications, project schedules, cost estimates, qualifications, compliance with RFP requirements.
  • Oversee the process from coordinating deadlines and management of submittals.
  • Develop and implement winning strategies for proposals.
  • Identify opportunities and identify challenges
  • Work with clients to meet their needs to ensure successful execution of projects.
  • Manage activities of cross functional teams to contribute to proposal development and execution.
  • Monitor and track progress of each pursuit, provide regular updates to executive management and status of opportunities.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to conduct effective and professional presentations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with a strong emphasis on Excel skills.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software.
  • Knowledge of the means and methods of construction management.
  • Knowledge of field operations through project support.
  • Ability to prepare quantity surveys.
  • Knowledge of specific trades and scopes of work.
  • Knowledge of self-perform and labor productivity.
  • Ability to develop General Requirement estimates.
  • Ability to develop proficiency in Agtek, Bluebeam, P6, and HeavyBid.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or related field.
