Job Description

Glyph Language Services is currently seeking a zealous and self-motivated Contract Localization Project Coordinator . As a Glyph Localization Project Coordinator, you will support the Localization Project Managers of our different product lines. You will ensure clear communication, proper resourcing, and adherence to timelines, budgets, and Glyph standards. You will use project management tools like XTRF to assign qualified talent, maintain accurate data, resolve issues proactively, and occasionally communicate with clients to clarify project details.

This position requires the ability to learn and apply translation environment tools, specifically memoQ and XTRF, as well as the basics of specific localization tasks, such as vendor assignments, with strict on-time deliveries, QA report review, and FQA of final product with an eye for detail.

This is a remote, contract position, requiring availability between the hours of 10:00 and 18:00 Pacific Time (UTC/GMT - 8 hours, not accounting for Daylight Saving Time offset). This position is a great opportunity to enter the field of localization!

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

  • Work closely with Project Managers to:
    • project new resource needs, resource quality and feedback, and other vendor-related matters;
    • follow PM-created project plans and schedules based on client-specific requirements;
    • report on poor translation quality that falls below Glyph standards and establish follow-up measures;
    • support continuous improvement in quality, capacity, and pricing by working with the PM and VM teams.
  • Work closely with Glyph Vendor Managers to:
    • maintain vendor records in TMS;
    • assist with onboarding and testing new linguists, when assigned specifically to work on a project by your manager and the VM lead.
  • Serve as the face of Glyph to vendors and develop strong vendor relationships through excellent communication, effective planning, and professional demeanor.
  • Apply appropriate contingencies in planning and resourcing, including:
    • maintain an in-depth understanding of the scope and objectives of projects per PM instructions;
    • ensure all PM-defined schedules are communicated and met by external resources;
    • select appropriate, well-qualified talent within budget from approved resources in the database;
    • ensure vendors have the tools, assets, and instructions needed for success, and
    • ensure compliance with Glyph standard practices and policies.
  • Anticipate and troubleshoot project bottlenecks per market/specialization and escalate appropriately to PM and VM, resolving independently as often as possible.
  • Expertly use Glyph’s project management software (XTRF) to create POs, evaluate talent and maintain project data.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of prior project management experience, preferably in localization
  • Native or near-native fluency in English
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated multi-tasking skills
  • Resourceful, creative, well-organized and proactive, with a knack for prioritization
  • Adaptability, flexibility and the ability to deal with ambiguity associated with working in a fast-paced and changing environment;
  • Highly proficient in the use of MS Office Suite
