Olivia’s Market in Bucktown is hiring for our deli and cheese department. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about the success of our neighborhood grocer and particularly that of their department. Excellent customer service and working with urgency are key to this role. Working clean, staying organized, and having a positive attitude are essential.

This position includes daily food preparation, deli duties, and supporting our specialty cheese section. We have a streamlined selection of items catering to our customers who may need shredded parm one day to Iberico and Serrano ham the next. We also serve to-go soup from our deli and slice meat and cheese to order.

This role is part-time with the opportunity to grow if interested in overhauling our deli, prepared foods, and specialty food options throughout the cold case. Weekend and evening availability is a must.

Responsibilities Include:

1. Opening and Closing the Deli
2. Providing Excellent Customer Service
3. Making Sandwiches, Salads, and Pre-Packaged items for our Prepared Foods Section
4. Daily Cleaning and Merchandising of the Deli Case and Prep Station
5. Stocking and Restocking throughout the Shift

Role Requirements:

1. Must be able to stand on feet for 8 hours.
2. Must be able to lift 40lbs.
3. Must have current - or be willing to take - ServSafe certification.

Preferred Experience but not Required:

1. Retail and/or Food Industry background
2. Deli and/or Cheesemongering
