We re seeking skilled and credentialed Dental Assistants to deliver high-quality, patient-centered dental support services across multiple sites within the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (VAGLAHS) under a long-term federal healthcare staffing contract. PRN / As-Needed, On-Site
Monday to Friday (based on VA needs)

Clinic Hours: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
Includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch
Estimated Annual Hours: 30,368 (total for all Dental Assistant positions)

5-Year Contract Duration: November 20, 2025 November 19, 2030

• Deliver comprehensive chairside support to dentists during a wide range of diagnostic, preventive, and therapeutic procedures

• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments and equipment per VA infection control standards

• Take and process dental radiographs in accordance with California Dental Board guidelines

• Record treatment information and patient vitals accurately in VA electronic systems (CPRS, VistA)

• Maintain dental inventory and ensure operatory readiness

• Provide post-operative instructions and basic oral hygiene education to veterans

• Facilitate patient flow and assist in appointment scheduling coordination

• Adhere to VA policies, HIPAA privacy laws, and Joint Commission standards

• Participate in continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives and safety reviews as needed

• High School Diploma or GED

• Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant training program (preferred)

• Valid Dental Radiological Certificate (required)

• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification (required)

• Minimum of 1 year recent experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting

• Familiarity with VA systems (CPRS, VistA) preferred

• Prior VA or military healthcare experience strongly preferred

• Must be a U.S. Citizen (federal requirement)

• No record of OIG exclusions

Contract PRN / As-Needed
Start Date: November 20, 2025
Initial Term: 5 Years (through November 19, 2030)

Competitive hourly rate based on federal contract wage determination (SCA)
No VMS/MSP fees involved
