About the distribution center team

Bi-Mart's distribution center, truck shop, and logistics department are located in Eugene, Oregon and provide service to 85 stores located throughout Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. Bi-Mart's fleet of trucks are maintained by our knowledgeable on-staff mechanics and are driven by on-staff drivers with long standing safety records.

Every distribution center, truck shop, and traffic employee is united in a common goal: the movement of merchandise from our distribution center to the stores in an efficient and safe manner. By utilizing logistics and an automated replenishing system, as well as hard work and dedication, these employees meet the needs of the stores and, ultimately, our customers every day.

About the Position

This position manages all functions of the Bi-Mart Distribution Center and Recovery Center including all distribution center buildings within Eugene. Manages the activities of Distribution Center Management staff, Equipment Operators, Lead Equipment Operators, and Hostlers for each work shift. Plans the workflow and assigns staff where needed to achieve the greatest level of efficiency.

Qualifications:

Include, but not limited to:

• Promote teamwork within Equipment Operators, Dispatch, Drivers; Truck Shop; Store Personnel; merchandising staff and Distribution Center Management.
• Ensure all incoming/outgoing freight (both from vendors and stores) is accurately and efficiently received, stored, processed and shipped to maximize warehouse space and personnel.
• Responsible for facility security and access. Responds to calls from the security alarm provider.
• Manages all pre-shift inspections of equipment and report any problems to the Distribution Center Manager.
• Ensures all work is performed safely and in accordance with established procedures.
• Administers disciplinary action monitors and works to improve productivity.
• Responsible for interviewing and hiring of warehouse personnel and contracting with outside labor services that supply temporary labor for the warehouse.
• Delegate tasks as needed to achieve greatest efficiency and manage the day-to-day work activities of the equipment operators in the work area.
• Train equipment operators to perform their duties safely, accurately, and efficiently.
• Accountable for managing controls that prevent internal and external theft, waste and other losses.
• Accountable for reporting equipment, maintenance and safety issues
• Stays current and implements new or changing shipping requirements on Hazardous Materials.
• Plan and direct strategies in order to achieve daily and long-term goals.
• Determines when to utilize overtime to accomplish warehouse workload.
• Contract with outside suppliers of labor and determine needs to accomplish warehouse workload.

Experience:

Prior experience directing the work activity within a distribution center.

Pay:

Bi-weekly/On-demand
