**Company :** Allegheny Health Network **Job Description :** **GENERAL OVERVIEW:** Provides emergency medical care to the sick and injured patients in the prehospital and hospital environment; effectively communicates with all persons and departments involved in the administration of emergency medical care. **ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Drives emergency vehicle. (20%) + Determines nature and extent of illness or injury; provide basic life support and transport to the critically ill and injured in the prehospital setting. (50%) + Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards. (15%) + Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies including BLS and ALS and has accountability for medications on every EMS unit per regulatory standards. (15%) + Performs other duties as assigned or required. **QUALIFICATIONS:** Minimum + High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. + PA EMT certification + EMSVO within 30 days of hire + Valid Driver's License + CPR - American Heart Association + Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate + Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate + Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate Preferred + Six months' experience in the field of prehospital care. + ITLS/PHTLS, ABLS, ASLS. **_Disclaimer:_** _The job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and essential duties and responsibilities of work performed by employees within this job title.
