Job Description

Become a part of The Chocolate Room family as our Executive Chocolatier/Pastry Chef. For the past 19 years we have been spreading JOY with our delicious chocolates, award-winning desserts, and ice cream. We're a group of passionate individuals who inspire and uplift one another to create a memorable chocolate experience for our dine in, online, wholesale, and catering venues.

As the Executive Chocolatier/Pastry Chef, you will lead a talented team, collaborate and develop new and seasonal products, oversee all aspects of production, from planning to execution, and help further our brand.


  • Lead, manage, and actively participate in all aspects of production
  • Maintain the highest quality standards for current products while developing and implementing new recipes
  • Drive operational efficiency and profitability through strategic planning and implementation
  • Execute cost-saving strategies to optimize food costs and minimize waste
  • Responsible for efficient purchasing and inventory management
  • Monitor team performance, provide coaching and feedback for professional development, scheduling, and conducting biannual performance and improvement plans
  • Recruit, hire, and further develop production team
  • Ensuring adherence to all safety, sanitation, and health standards

Ideal candidate must have the following qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of chocolate/pastry experience
Minimum of two years Management Experience as an Executive Pastry or Pastry Sous Chef
Strong knowledge of chocolate and pastry methods and techniques
Possess a good written and verbal command of the English Language
A pleasant and outgoing personality with an entrepreneurial spirit
Strong knowledge of kitchen equipment
Proficiency in standard computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite & POS Inventory Functionality )
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Thrives in fast-paced environments
Ability to work flexible schedule to accommodate business demands
NYC Food Protection Certificate
