DEPARTMENT: Fleet
JOB STATUS: Exempt
SALARY RANGE: $70,000 - $80,000 (based on experience)
REPORTS TO: VP of Fleet
DIRECT REPORTS: Yes
JOB SUMMARY: CrossCountry Freight Solutions is looking for a Fleet Manager who enjoys a “hands-on” working environment. They will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of company-owned equipment, as well as coordinating vehicle repairs and maintenance with internal teams and external vendors. The Fleet Manager will have administrative responsibilities as well including but not limited to creating mileage and fuel reports, adding new equipment and users into Maintenance Pro software. This role focuses on delivering an outstanding customer experience by providing quality service, while ensuring our fleet is safe and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Essential Job Duties - Creates all workflow processes between Indexer, invoicing, and Maintenance Pro software.
- Develop training and reference manuals for workflows involving all Fleet Processes
- Train and manage company mechanics.
- Adjust any workflow to accommodate new integrations policies or programs and redistribute updated training manuals along with education to those involved in the process.
- Report total mileage per fleet unit to compliance in order to accommodate our insurance requirements.
- Order fuel for various locations as needed. Responsible for Fuel reports involving both Comdata and Voyager reconciliation.
- Responsible for adding new equipment and users to Maintenance Pro software.
- Assist in ordering and cancellation of cards through Comdata.
- Reconcile all purchases inside of Comdata.
- Purchase oversize/weight permits for any vehicles/trips necessary.
- Handle all new equipment onboarding, entry into Maintenance Pro, follow up on equipment distribution, license, registration, and apportioned status.
- Overseeing maintenance of company-owned equipment, including but not limited to Tractor Trailers, Heavy Duty Trucks and Forklifts.
- Coordinate vehicle repairs and maintenance with internal teams and external vendors.
- Other duties as directed in support of the business.
- Ability to travel up to 25% to remote locations and work as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: - 2+ years of leadership experience is preferred.
- 5+ years of mechanical skills/experience in the heavy-duty market preferred.
- CDL-A license preferred.
- Previous fleet administration experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of DOT and compliance policies
- Must be proficient in the use of word processing and spreadsheet PC software. Fleet tracking program experience preferred.
- Must have strong organizational, time management, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to perform highly detailed work accurately.
- Ability to travel up to 25% to remote locations and work as needed.
