Trustworthy, Professional Housekeeper Needed – Long-Term Role in Westport, CT
A warm and welcoming couple in Westport, CT, is seeking an experienced, trustworthy, and meticulous Housekeeper to care for their 8,400 sq. ft. home. This is a rare opportunity for a seasoned professional who takes pride in their work, enjoys creating order and beauty in a home, and is looking for a long-term role with a family who values loyalty, dedication, and professionalism.
The ideal candidate will be more than a house cleaner—they will be a true housekeeper and household manager, someone who understands the rhythms of a fine home and ensures everything is running smoothly with little to no direction. This role is best suited for someone intuitive, proactive, calm, and discreet, with a natural ability to know where to be and when. This is not a formal home, but it needs to be treated and cared for at a high level.
Full care and maintenance of an 8,400 sq. ft. home, including all cleaning and upkeep
Expert care of fine materials and surfaces, including marble, glass, wood, silver, and other custom finishes
Laundry and wardrobe management, including delicate and specialty fabrics (experience as a laundress a strong plus)
Floor care and maintenance at a high standard
Organization projects: closets, pantry, cabinets, storage areas
Meal preparation and cooking (someone who is comfortable in the kitchen and loves to cook is a huge PLUS)
Assistance with travel packing/unpacking
Support with entertaining and events (helping with setup, casual serving, clean-up; additional staff will be hired for large gatherings)
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and motivated
Professional, with experience in high-end private homes
A strong sense of responsibility, trustworthiness, and loyalty
Calm and intuitive presence—knows how to move seamlessly around the home
Ability to assess what needs to be done and take initiative without being asked
Someone who takes great pride in their work and enjoys making a home shine
Primary residents are a couple (children are grown and visit occasionally)
First and second floors are the main living areas; third floor (office + pilates studio) requires light maintenance
The family values discretion, professionalism, and a long-term commitment
Schedule: Flexible—Monday through Friday (full-time) or 4 days per week (candidate may choose days) – Couple is open for the right fit
Compensation: $30–$35/hour, DOE (negotiable for the right candidate)
