Overview

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is seeking an IT Intern to join our Home Office IT team. In this role, you will gain valuable hands-on experience.

This internship is in-person at our St. Petersburg, FL location during the dates of May 19th to August 8th, 2025.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to technical employees working in an organizational function related to the Intern's area of study.

• Assists with technical tasks and project support.

• Supports equipment set up and monitors tests and experiments.

• Observes results, collects data, and compiles summaries and reports.

• Learns technical processes and procedures.

• Job shadow s other more experienced professionals and or support staff.

• May also support the documentation & updates of procedures or work instructions.

• Handles basic issues and problems

Additional Responsibilities

• Supports in responding to end-user requests for technical assistance by phone, email, or ticketing system.

• Assists with troubleshooting and resolv ing basic computer, application, system, device, access, or performance issues.
• Uses established processes and procedures to document, track, and resolve reported problems and to meet operational service levels and standards.

Qualifications

• Required education and experience: Must be currently enrolled in related Technical courses or be within 6 months of graduation.
• Knowledge, skills & abilities: Ability to work as part of a team. Oral and written communication skills. Attentiveness. Ability to understand and follow directions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
• Discipline/Major: Information Technology or Business Degree preferred

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
• Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
• Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
• May need to stand for long periods of time.

Travel:

• No travel likely.
