Position Overview

In this role, you’ll operate a loader to ensureproper supply of materials to the asphalt plant, trucks, and other assigned areas, playing an integral part as we stand together toreinvent the way our world is built.

Wage: $23.00-$25.00/hr DOE w/ potential for overtime

Note: Wage scale for position is the full wage scale an individual can make based on performance, experience, and seniority throughout their time at the company.

 

Location: *This job will require you to work at our asphalt plant in Hermiston, OR

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions):

 

  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently by utilizing equipment within its designed parameters.
  • Travel to and from various locations.
  • Ensure necessary supply of materials for asphalt plant is available.
  • Load plant bins with materials.
  • Fuel, oil, grease and check other necessary loader parts to ensure proper function of equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness of plant premises.
  • Perform general maintenance and repair on equipment as assigned.
  • Stomp lumps and poke material during cold weather.
  • May operate other equipment such as skid-steer, water truck, excavators, etc. as needed if properly trained.
  • Assist labor crew including shoveling of materials and daily plant operations.
  • Promptly communicate with paving crew on any flaws in material.
  • Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.
  • Regular and timely attendance.
  • Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.

 

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • One to two years heavy equipment operation experience, such as loaders, dozers, excavators, skid-steers, etc.
  • Valid drivers’ license.
  • Safety minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance, and punctuality.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical exam and pre-employment controlled substance testing.
  • Demonstrates the ability to conform to and maintain OSHA, MSHA, DOT and all other company or state rules and regulations.
  • Must have current US Authorization to work or ability to obtain without company assistance prior to start date.


Preferred Qualifications:
Mechanical skills, basic knowledge of aggregate products a plus.

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move anywhere up to 50 lbs.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Proper PPE will be provided by our team, but please bring your own pair of steel toed boots.
  • Primarily work 10-16 hours per day 5-7 days per week during the peak season, occasional night work.
