Responsibilities

• Design and deliver age-appropriate Spanish language instruction for elementary school students.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
• Incorporate a variety of teaching strategies, including hands-on activities, storytelling, music, and movement, to make language learning interactive and enjoyable.
• Integrate cultural elements into lessons to help students appreciate the richness of Spanish-speaking communities.
• Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations and provide meaningful feedback to students and parents.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and other specialists to support cross-curricular connections and reinforce language development.
• Maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for growth.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events as required.
• Uphold school policies, values, and mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field
• State teaching certification or relevant licensure (or willingness to obtain).
• Fluency in Spanish and proficiency in English.
• Previous experience teaching Spanish at the elementary level preferred.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an engaging learning environment.
• Knowledge of best practices in language acquisition and differentiation strategies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to fostering a love for languages and cultural appreciation among young learners.
