About the Role

Join a collaborative team helping municipal clients keep their water and wastewater treatment plants running smoothly. As a Mechanic-in-Training , you’ll perform preventive and corrective maintenance on treatment facilities, equipment, and grounds. This is a hands-on role where you’ll learn from experienced team members while building your skills and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery, pumps, motors, and related equipment
• Lubricate equipment, inspect for malfunctions, and replace bearings, packing, and regulators
• Install, set up, and troubleshoot new equipment
• Clean and paint facilities, equipment, and buildings
• Perform basic plumbing, pipe fitting, and welding tasks as needed
• Assist with recordkeeping of maintenance activities
• Support plant operations with safe, efficient practices
• Follow all safety procedures to protect yourself and your team

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining wastewater treatment plants, utilities, or similar industrial equipment preferred
• Valid CMRT certification (or ability to obtain within 3 years of hire)
• Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
• Forklift experience a plus
• Experience working with municipal utility clients is a bonus
• Commitment to safe work practices
