The Occupational Health Nurse is responsible for effectively managing clinical reviews of occupational exposures and administering workers’ compensation program to ensure compliance with federal and state laws as well as minimize workers’ compensation costs. Responsible for providing education, skill development, and ongoing learning opportunities to employees of the organization for a safe work environment and to support the organization’s strategic plan. Responsible for oversight of initial and annual employee health screenings. This candidate will travel to ALL Compass Health locations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – JOB SPECIFIC:

Staff Development

* Assist in the design, coordination, delivery, follow up, and continuous improvement of training programs in support of programmatic, departmental, organizational, and regulatory needs and requirements, virtually and in-person, using a variety of methodologies and techniques for adult learning.
* Research, learn, implement, and evaluate new techniques in corporate training and adult learning.
* Manage compliance for Basic Life Support and First Aid training and compile and distribute rosters and cards.
* Create and maintain a positive and professional learning environment.
* Set the standard and expectations in his/her conduct, work ethic, integrity, and character by modeling the organization’s five guidelines to service excellence and BETTER & BETTER culture.
Occupational Health
* Administer workers' compensation program to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures of Compass Health and the Division of Workers’ Compensation
* Investigate employee accidents, ensure workers' compensation costs are minimized, monitor open claims,
coordinate return-to-work program with employee and supervisor, respond to inquiries regarding claims, and
work to avoid preventable injuries.
* Manage and review health screening requirements for new employees by collaborating with credentialing team and Compass physician(s).
* Assist with managing annual vaccination requirements.
* Oversee employee tuberculin screening and testing process.
* Assist with organizing and administering annual employee health fairs.
* Perform clinical review, reporting, and follow-up calls/notifications to clinic and employee for occupational exposures in conjunction and consultation with in-house medical leadership.
* Prepare staff injury reports and present to monthly Safety Committee meeting.
* Prepare monthly and annual injury reports for OSHA and Bureau of Labor Statistics.
* Special projects as assigned by the Director of Human Resources- Wellness & Development.

* Associate degree in nursing required
* Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred

* At least three (3) years of experience as an RN in community health or hospital required
* Experience providing and delivering health and safety programs preferred
* Experience with managing occupational exposures preferred
* Experience conducting training, practicing, and providing evidence-based interventions preferred
* High energy, dynamic, enthusiastic, motivational presentation/training style required
* Strong written and verbal communication skills required
* Capability of influencing and engaging people in partnerships to accomplish common objectives required
* Ability to complete projects independently using strong time management, organizational, planning, project management, and problem resolution skills required
* Ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment required
* Computer literate with in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office and web-based systems required; experience with virtual meeting platforms is preferred
* Must be willing to travel 60% of the time
* Valid MO driver’s license and agency-established minimum automobile coverage required

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:RN licensed in Missouri required or Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) preferred (development assistance provided)
