Under the supervision of the Personnel Supervisor II, Personnel Transactions Services (PTS), the incumbent independently performs a variety of support and technical functions that include general clerical work in support of the department's payroll and benefits workload. The scope of the duties requires the incumbent to work independently and as a team member, provide excellent customer service, exercise good judgment, and maintain confidentiality in performing assigned duties in alignment with the operational needs of the business area. The incumbent will be required to work in a fast-paced office environment, use a computer, and complete time sensitive workloads.

Appointment may become full-time.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

• Ability to ensure security of confidential records by appropriately filing documentation in a secure location 
• Experience auditing files to ensure filing accuracy
• Organizational skills and effective time management to complete daily assigned tasks
• Ability to communicate (verbal and written) with all levels of internal and external customers in a professional manner
• Ability to adapt quickly to changes necessary to improve services provided to the customers 
• Knowledge and experience using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as program applications, reports, and procedure manuals 
• Clerical Experience in an office setting
• Excellent time management
