Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

The EKG Tech performs non-invasive diagnostic tests of the heart, including EKG`s Holter Monitor and treadmill stress testing. Additional tasks include transporting patients to and from the Cardiology department for testing, procedure room set-up and cleaning, maintaining department appearance, ordering supplies, filing, faxing, copying, scheduling patients for procedures, registering and preparing all paperwork for inpatients and outpatient procedures, batching and checking cardiology billing, prepares all paperwork associated with all Cardio testing procedures for interpretation and distribution. Completes other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education:High school graduate and completion of basic arrhythmia class required.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • Minimum Experience: Minimum of one year experience in ECG's, stress ECG's and halter monitoring in an acute care setting required.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated knowledge of all areas of responsibility.
  • Must have personality to meet the public, patients, and medical staff to assure cooperation and coordination of the activities of the cardiology department and with all other areas of the hospital.
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System




Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
