This will be a physical therapy position with majority of the caseload focused on managing patients with Ehlers- Danlos Syndrome/Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder. This position will be instrumental in the development of standardized physical therapy pathways for this patient population, with significant research opportunities, and will present in a weekly virtual EDS group education session. This position will also have a mix of patient care specializing in spine conditions and musculoskeletal conditions.
QualificationsEDUCATION: Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy or higher.
OUTPATIENT EXPERIENCE: Two years of outpatient physical therapy experience which should include experience in one of the following specialties: Ehlers- Danlos Syndrome/Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder, Orthopedics, and/or Spine.OUTPATIENT PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1) Doctorate in Physical Therapy 2) Advanced Specialty Certification, including, but not limited to: Board-certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist, Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists, Dry Needling certified, Manual Therapy Certification (MTC)
COMPETENCY: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification is required within the first 90 days of hire, thereafter an annual BLS refresher will be required. Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development required for effective communication and care of the adolescent, adult and older adult populations.
