We’re Kama’aina Kids , Hawaiʻi’s Enrichment & Education Professionals since 1987. We’re looking for new team members to help us in our mission to make a difference in the lives of our youngest learners! Bring your love of children and past experience in childcare or early childhood education to our dedicated and caring team. While prior experience working with children is helpful, it is not required. We will provide full training for the right candidate!

No experience yet? If you've worked as a coach, scout leader, instructor or volunteered in a children's ministry - it counts! Babysitting, work as a Nanny, and caring for your own children also prepare you for an Assistant Teacher role with us. We'll help you gain additional training and experience so your dream of working with children can come true!

Positions Available: Preschool Teachers and/or Aides

QUALIFICATIONS:

For Teacher Aides:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Volunteer work with children &/or experience babysitting/caring for children preferred

• Have or be willing to obtain First Aid & CRP/AED Certification (Qualified Training Provided).

• No professional experience required ; all training is provided for enthusiastic new team members!

For Teachers:

• A mix of experience and education is required. Ideal candidates may have a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education/related field or a CDA. (Child Development Associate Certificate.)
• 6-12 months of experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting.

For Caregivers (Infant/Toddler Teachers):

• Combination of education and experience. (Degree in ECE, Child Development or related field or CDA or 30 Training hours in Infant/Toddler Development.) WE can provide the 30 training hours for you!
• 12-24 months of experience working with children 2 & under in a licensed center

“A day in the life” of a Teacher or Assistant may look like this:

• Greeting the children and families as they arrive/leave for the day.

• Implementing fun activities from our curriculum that focus on the development of young children. (We're so much more than a 'daycare'!)

• Snuggling with little ones while singing & reading stories.

• Encouraging physical activity while exploring the outdoors with the children.

• Enjoying a relaxed meal after an adventurous science activity or creative art experience.

• Ensuring that all children are safe, comfortable, secure and well-cared for.

• Communicating with families about the children’s experiences that day.

• Setting up the classroom for the next day of activities.

• Going home with the satisfaction of knowing you made a difference!

Kama’aina Kids can help you qualify for a Teacher or Caregiver role if you’re interested and committed to personal growth. We offer Infant/Toddler Development Training and assistance in obtaining your CDA (Child Development Associate) at no cost to you ! Start your career journey as a " Teacher Assistant " and grow with us!

We ARE also hiring Qualified Preschool Teachers and Caregivers! ($17-$22 per hour)
