Job Summary:

Village Health Care in Gresham, Oregon is seeking a Receptionist to represent the community in receiving residents, staff and the public in a positive, helpful manner.

Essential Functions:

  • Directs residents and guests to the appropriate office for assistance, resident room, or activity area as needed.
  • Answers the telephone promptly and directs calls to appropriate party, minimizing “holding” time.
  • Provides clerical support to all departments, as assigned by supervisor, in a timely and organized manner.
  • Copies, collates, and staples materials as requested.
  • Provides support to other departments by maintaining files, assist in filing, typing labels, and other office tasks as requested.
  • Sorts and distributes incoming mail and processes outgoing mail.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all matters dealing with personnel, residents, and management issues.
  • Ensures that work area is clean, safe, and orderly.
  • Assists with bookkeeping and reporting functions as assigned.
  • Accurately maintains payroll for the community.
  • Ensures that all employees are paid correctly and timely.
  • Completes new hire paperwork for all new employees.
  • Ensures paperwork is completed accurately to company standards.
  • Completes all account payable functions for the community.
  • Maintains personnel records, background checks, E-verify and I-9’s for the community.

Education, Licensure, & Experience Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Working knowledge of office machines (copier, fax, phone systems, etc.)
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to relate positively, effectively and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other facility staff.
  • Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications.
  • The responsibilities of this position involve significant physical activities including standing, lifting (up to 30 pounds unassisted), bending, stooping, pushing, pulling and twisting.
