**Job Title: Senior Assistant County Attorney**
**Salary:** $117,192.40 - $197,029.46 Annually

**Position Summary:**
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Assistant County Attorney to join our team. This role involves providing legal analysis and advice on a variety of legal issues, assisting with the management of legal matters, and representing the organization in various legal settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public procurement, real estate, and affordable housing, with a focus on litigation and legal research.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide legal advice and support to the Board of County Commissioners, administrative staff, and various agencies and boards.
- Litigate complex legal cases and appear before public boards, sometimes in televised settings.
- Prepare and review legal documents such as contracts, deeds, resolutions, and legal opinions.
- Conduct legal research and prepare reports and memoranda.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of subordinate employees, including Assistant County Attorneys, Interns, and Externs.
- Represent departments, officials, boards, and commissions in legal matters.
- Attend meetings of the county commission, boards, and agencies, which may require attendance outside of normal working hours.
- Demonstrate leadership by evaluating, developing, and motivating employees.
**Qualifications:**
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and membership in the Florida Bar.
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible legal experience, including litigation experience.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in video conferencing, document collaboration tools, and remote document management software.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, including public speaking.
- Ability to organize and present cases for trial and conduct trials, hearings, and proceedings.
- Preference for candidates with experience in eminent domain/inverse condemnation, real estate, and affordable housing.
**Physical Demands:**
- Regularly required to sit, talk, or hear.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
**Work Environment:**
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
- Opportunity to work remotely when not needed in-person, provided the employee has the technical skills to use necessary software and platforms effectively.
**Note:** Successful completion of a criminal history background investigation and drug screen is required prior to employment.
