Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join our team on a contract basis during the upcoming tax season. This role is based in Durham, North Carolina, and requires someone who is detail oriented with a strong background in handling complex individual tax returns. Responsibilities: - Prepare accurate and timely individual tax returns in accordance with federal and state regulations. - Utilize Lacerte Tax Software to manage and complete tax preparation tasks efficiently. - Ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations while analyzing client financial documents. - Communicate with clients to gather necessary information for tax filing and address any questions. - Review and verify financial records, including income statements and deductions, for accuracy. - Stay informed about changes in tax laws and apply relevant updates to tax preparation. - Collaborate with team members to manage workload and meet filing deadlines. - Provide guidance to clients regarding tax-saving strategies and potential deductions. - Maintain a high level of confidentiality with sensitive client information. - Resolve any discrepancies or issues during tax preparation to ensure accuracy. Requirements - Proven experience in preparing individual tax returns, preferably within CPA firms. - Proficiency in using Lacerte Tax Software for tax preparation tasks. - Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations and compliance requirements. - Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines. - Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and address their inquiries. - High attention to detail and accuracy in financial data analysis. - Previous experience handling complex tax returns is highly preferred. - Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in client interactions.
