Discover Impactful Work:
The Technical Applications Scientist is responsible for providing remote pre- and post-sales technical support of products to customers and field personnel and relaying customer feedback to the organization. The role is office-based and requires on-site presence four days per week.
A Day in the Life:
Answer customer technical inquiries, which may be received via telephone or email, to support molecular biology product lines and services.
Provide customer support on technical issues by applying all available resources and addressing advanced issues or problems when warranted.
Remaining at the forefront of scientific knowledge, participants must regularly receive product training and continue education on new applications and technologies.
Accurately record pertinent information from customer contacts in the Customer Relationship Management system.
Summarize trends and technology as technical tips, FAQ’s and troubleshooting guides.
Recommend changes to knowledge databases, websites, and other company-managed databases of technical information.
Present technical updates to colleagues and contribute to department meetings.
Participate in additional special team or individual projects.
May perform other job-related duties as opportunities arise.
Keys to Success:
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree required; Masters degree preferred.
3+ years of laboratory experience in molecular biology techniques is required, with experience in cloning, nucleic acid applications, and end-point PCR being most applicable.
Prior experience in customer service is preferred.
Experience in an applied science area (i.e. food and animal health, clinical research, diagnostics, etc)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Technical writing capabilities and interpersonal skills.
Proven track record to quickly learn large amounts of new, complex technical information
Proven ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, to customers and colleagues
Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, in a fast-paced environment
Problem-solving ability
Digital literacy, including spreadsheet, database, word processing and Internet applications

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $66,000.00–$99,000.00.
This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
