Position Summary:
The Training Specialist coordinates, implements, and evaluates professional development training to ensure employees across Ohio University have the necessary knowledge, skills, and resources to perform their duties effectively. Key accountabilities include delivering engaging and informative training sessions, ensuring consistent training methods, assessing training effectiveness, continuously reviewing and updating training materials, and maintaining accurate records. The Training Specialist is required to maintain knowledge of industry trends and best practices to enhance training program quality and effectiveness.

Responsibilities:
Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
  • Provides departments with leadership and skill development training opportunities.
  • Designs and/or coordinates curriculum and instructional delivery methods to address organizational development needs.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

May assist in mentoring or training new employees.

Minimum Qualifications:

Typically requires a bachelor's degree in business, psychology, communication, instructional design or related field and 3-5 years of related professional experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Certified Professional in Learning and Performance ( CPLP )
  • SHRM Certified Professional ( SHRM -CP)
  • Professional in Human Resources ( PHR )
  • Certified Professional in Training Management ( CPTM )
  • Certified Instructional Designer/Developer ( CIDD )
  • Human Resource Management Certification

We offer a competitive salary range of $44,592 to $59,085 annually, commensurate with experience.
