Job Description
Are you an experienced ESL educator with a passion for helping students thrive in an online setting? We're looking for a dedicated and fully certified ESL Teacher to provide virtual support to students across various grade levels. This remote position offers flexibility, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home while making a positive impact on students' language development.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality, virtual English language instruction to students, ensuring a supportive and engaging learning environment.
Develop and adapt ESL curriculum materials tailored for online learning platforms, making learning accessible and effective.
Collaborate with classroom teachers to track and enhance the academic progress of English Language Learners (ELL).
Keep accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, language proficiency, and any needed accommodations.
Communicate regularly with students' families, offering support and updates, and utilizing translation services when necessary.
Lead small group instruction sessions designed to target language development and build student confidence.
Create and deliver assessments that are designed for English Language Learners, ensuring fair evaluation of their language skills.
Qualifications:
A Master's Degree in Education or a related field.
Active TESOL certification through the Department of Education in Massachusetts (required). Please note, TEFL certifications cannot be considered for this role.
U.S. citizenship is a requirement.
At least two years of experience working in a school setting, with remote teaching experience preferred.
Familiarity with online education platforms such as Zoom or Teams.
A reliable internet connection and an adequate computer setup for virtual teaching.
Additional Details:
This is a 1099 contract position.
K-12 caseload with a mild-to-moderate focus (caseload sizes can be adjusted based on your preference).
Full-time commitment (35-40 hours per week).
Use of Zoom Plus, a HIPAA/FERPA compliant application for secure communication.
Compensation: $28-$35 per hour for both direct and indirect time, depending on experience.
