Warehouse Supervisor Job Responsibilities:

The Warehouse Supervisor plans for, organizes and oversees the receipt, storage and distribution of automotive parts inventory. This person leads, organizes and supervises the team(s) for receiving, shipping and delivery. This position is responsible for the safety, security and welfare of team members, the facility, inventory and other assets of the company. The Supervisor assures that activities within his/her area comply with Federal, State and Local laws and regulations as well as the needs of our customers, the mission and values of the Company, provide optimal productivity, and achieve profitability objectives. This position reports to the Parts Manager.

Warehouse Supervisor Essential Job Duties:

Stocking:

Supervise the stocking staff to maintain a clean, accurate and efficient disbursement of parts stock into their respective bins and/or containers.

Organize and maintain inventory storage area layout to accomplish optimal space utilization.

Minimize multiple bin locations and maximize the probability for locating products.

Maintain clean and organized staging area.

Shipping:

Supervises the zone picking staff to ensure maximum productivity while maintaining a high level of pull accuracy.

Sustain optimal picking, staging, loading operations including safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely dispatch of stock.

Maintain a clean and organized staging area.

Warehouse Management:

Maintain cleanliness of warehouse and standards of health, safety and hygiene.

Assure operational integrity, security and reliability of facilities.

Manage warehouse operations in compliance with the company’s policies and procedures.

Adhere to all warehousing, handling, shipping and legal/legislative requirements.

Safeguard company assets against theft and damages.

Enforce work and safety rules and regulations.

Personnel:

Recruit, select, orient, develop, coach and motivate employees.

Maintain warehouse staff by coaching and monitoring while assisting management with appraising job results according to current policies.

Monitor effectiveness of warehousing activities and employee performance.

Report to management any deficiencies/efficiencies.

Motivate and encourage teamwork to ensure set targets are met.

Train warehouse staff and monitor performance and progress.

Help determine, communicate to team members, and achieve productivity targets.

Improve technology deployment to achieve goals.

Continuous update to policies and procedures that optimize warehouse operations.

Marginal Duties:

Assist parts manager with yearly inventory and other projects.

Communicate with management regarding productivity, personnel, equipment, needs, status and condition.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervise team leaders in the warehouse. Is responsible for the overall performance of the day to day warehouse operation.

Warehouse Manager Skills and Qualifications:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Proven work experience as a warehouse manager.

Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices.

Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.

Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases.

Leadership skills and ability to manage staff.

Strong decision making and problem solving skills.

Excellent communication skills.

BS degree in logistics, supply chain management or business administration (or four (4) years of qualifying experience that meets the criteria outlined above).

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Valid Driver's License

Hazardous material handling certification

Fork lift operator certification
