Job Description

The Digital Product Experience (DPX) Department at ACS drives innovation in digital channels to enhance communication and collaboration within the chemistry community. Its mission is to develop and refine powerful online platforms that advance the chemical enterprise, with a focus on the quality and effectiveness of ACS's digital properties, including ACS.org. DPX oversees digital product development and customer experience strategy, covering areas such as design, application development, user research, experience and content strategy, and web operations. By collaborating with stakeholders, DPX ensures a user-centered, high-quality digital experience. The department is committed to creating and enhancing digital products that meet the evolving needs of members and industry standards.

Position Summary

Join DPX as a Business Analyst Intern and become an integral part of a dynamic, agile development team overseeing ACS.org and various microsites. This opportunity offers deep insights into the lifecycle of website enhancement projects. You'll gain firsthand experience in understanding IT team dynamics and the art of effective communication among project stakeholders. This position is tailored to equip you with specialized skills that will not only enhance your expertise but also make you a standout contributor in any team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
-Requirements Gathering - Eliciting requirements for new projects coming from our Business Units or within WSO.

-Story Grooming -Turn project requirements into JIRA tickets to be added into sprints and assigned to the Web Development Team.

-Sprint Planning -Plan future sprints, taking into account story points (ticket timeline), developer workload, and project priority

-Project Management - Manage an enhancement project from kick-off to deployment.

-Quality Assurance - Participating in the testing of new web features, identifying bugs, and working with developers to ensure that the end product meets the desired quality standards.

-Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams - Working alongside development, design, and content teams to ensure cohesive strategy implementation.

Education Requirements:

The Ideal candidate will be a rising college junior, senior, recent graduate or pursuing a Masters/ PHD in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or Communications

Required Qualifications:

Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, Communication or related field.

Pay Transparency: This role is based in our Washington, D.C. office. The following are the intended hourly rates for this part time/nonexempt role: Rising Junior-$23.00; Rising Senior-$24.00; Current Grad/PhD Student- $27.00.

Any actual offer of employment, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be made in the sole discretion of ACS. ACS reserves the right to amend or modify its employment benefits and compensation structure at any time.

*This position will be primarily based in the Washington D.C. (or applicable) office. ACS employees work a hybrid work schedule, consisting of working onsite, two days per week. Schedule flexibility may be required for this role to support in-office activities. While always welcome to work in the office, employees may work the other three days of the week from a location of their choice.
