Location: On-site, Hybrid, or Remote (Depending on Experience)
Schedule: Full-time (1.0 FTE) to Part-time (0.6 FTE); Full benefits available at 0.80 FTE (Schedule to be determined)
Travel: Not required
### About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant/Bookkeeper to support our accounting team in managing daily financial transactions. This role involves processing invoices, maintaining financial records, assisting in report preparation, and ensuring accuracy in all financial operations. The ideal candidate is proactive, efficient, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Prior experience in a healthcare setting is required.
### Responsibilities
- Process invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure invoice and statement accuracy
- Work with internal departments to confirm receipt of goods and services
- Monitor and process payment reminders
- Track expenses and compare them against budgeted amounts
- Assist in preparing monthly financial reports for management
- Support the preparation of quarterly physician and management compensation structures
- Participate in special projects as needed

### Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- At least 2 years of relevant accounting experience
- Healthcare industry experience is required; ophthalmology experience is preferred
- Familiarity with accounting principles and financial reporting
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification as an Ophthalmic Coding Specialist (preferred but not required)
### Work Environment
- Primarily an indoor, office-based role with a low to moderate noise level
- If working remotely, candidates must have:
- A strong and stable internet connection
- A reliable computer with dual monitors preferred
- A dedicated workspace
### Physical Demands
- Regularly required to sit, use hands and arms, reach, talk, and hear
- Specific vision abilities required, including near vision, distance vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
