Delivery driver will make deliveries for Tom B Martinez Trucking and MCS Landscape supply customers. All deliveries will be limited to Colorado state wide territory. Drivers will be required to fill out and turn in daily driver logs and vehicle inspection reports. Loading trucks with material and unloading trucks will be a daily task. When doing deliveries for Tom B Martinez Trucking, trucks will be loaded by some clients while drivers approve loading by ensuring safety of loading job.
Tasks include but are not limited to:
Drive a tractor-trailer combination or a truck with a capacity of at least 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW). Required to unload truck. Requires commercial drivers' license.
Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order. Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting goods.
Inspect loads to ensure that cargo is secure.
Maintain logs of working hours and vehicle inspection reports, following applicable state and federal regulations.
Mandatory annual CDL testing and physical
Secure cargo for transport, using straps, blocks, chain, binders, or covers.
Heavy lifting of 50lbs – 80lbs
Maintain three points of contact on machinery
Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods
Check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Read bills of lading to determine assignment details.
Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes.
Drive trucks to weigh stations before and after loading and along routes in compliance with state regulations.
Couple or uncouple trailers by changing trailer jack positions, connecting or disconnecting air or electrical lines, or manipulating fifth-wheel locks.
Health insurance for Full time year round employees. Seasonal employees do not qualify for benefits.
