Job Description



Keypath Education is supporting our university partners in building a pool of persons qualified to teach as faculty in Speech-Language Pathology and Communication Sciences & Disorders programs.

We are seeking qualified faculty to join our adjunct faculty pool for future openings in Speech-Language Pathology and Communication Sciences and Disorders programs. As part of this role, selected candidates will be considered for teaching opportunities on an as-needed basis to support students in clinical, didactic, or research settings.

Candidates will be considered for a range of roles within an SLP/CSD program which may include full or part-time faculty, program track coordination, and/or program leadership.

Job Description



The ideal candidate will contribute to the academic and clinical excellence of university programs by engaging in high-quality teaching, research and/or service activities. The faculty member will contribute to strong student outcomes and program success by working collaboratively with colleagues and students to advance the field of speech-language pathology and communication sciences and disorders, and preparing future practitioners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching
    • Develop and deliver undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses in speech-language pathology, communication sciences, and related areas.
    • Mentor and advise students in academic, research, and clinical practice areas.
    • Supervise clinical practicum experiences and provide guidance in clinical decision-making.
    • Contribute to curriculum development and program assessment efforts to ensure alignment with current best practices and accreditation standards.
  • Service
    • Participate in departmental, college, and university committees and initiatives.
    • Contribute to community outreach programs and services related to speech-language pathology and communication sciences.
    • Provide service to the profession through involvement in professional organizations and committees.
    • Assist with student recruitment, admissions, and retention efforts.
  • Research
    • Engage in scholarly research activities in areas related to speech-language pathology, communication disorders, or related fields.
    • Pursue external funding to support research initiatives.
    • Collaborate with faculty and students on interdisciplinary research projects.
    • Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and develop proposals for relevant national and international conferences. 

Qualifications



Required :

  • Earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders, or a closely related field.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing-Association (ASHA)
  • Eligibility for state licensure in Speech-Language Pathology (state requirement will vary)
  • Evidence of effective teaching and student mentorship in a higher education setting.
  • A record of scholarly research and publication in relevant areas.

Preferred :

  • Prior experience in academic teaching in postsecondary setting, especially online and hybrid teaching modalities
  • Expertise in specific areas such as pediatric speech and language disorders, adult neurogenic communication disorders, voice disorders, or augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)
  • Experience with program accreditation processes, such as CAA accreditation
  • Experience in supporting diversity, equity, inclusion, access and belonging initiatives
  • Scholarly record and a history of securing external funding for research
